Hello Domain Buyers,

My name is Nico Simon Princely and I have been involved with domain name speculation and traffic generation since 1997. And while I did start buying domains rather late in the game so to speak. I have made the most of the opportunity that I did have and have made my domains work for my sites.

I now sell quality domains to people looking to build sites and also to investors looking to get in to the domain name spectulation market.

I also buy domains that have type in traffic from indivduals looking to sell their domains that they have not developed.

The New Paradigm of The Domain Name Market
I feel that while we have seen people buy domains for $70-$100 a name and resell them for $40,000 - $12,000,000 we will now begin to see people buying domains for $20,000 - $100,000 and even higher to turn right around and resell them in for even greater prices and profits! I think the days of buying a domain for $6.95-$15 and getting a name worth anything are very rare for the average person, yet the are still a few more golden nuggets left out there if you know where to find them and are willing to put in long hours of tedious searching.

The people that bought domains in the beginning had great insight and now the people that are buying domains with the new paradigm in mind will prove to be the next wave of super successful Internet entrepanures. They look at a name and see what it will be worth rather than the $10,000 someone is asking and they will clean up just as we did when we paid $100 for some great names 10 years ago!

What Makes a Domain Name Good?
Often times many people are confused about what makes for a good domain name . I will try to answer this for you below.

We all know that on the Internet your domain name can be as important as your business itself. That is why domain prices have skyrocketed and multi-million dollar record prices have been paid for domains and even after the .com crash prices are on the rise again and show no sign of slowing down any time soon.

Factors That Make Up The Value of a Domain:

#1 The Type of Domain. .com .net .org .cc and .mobi are the most common names in use by private individuals and companies. There are of course many others. But at this time the most valuable to date have been .com’s fetching muti-million dollar prices. However a .cc was sold for $1,000,000 brokered by GreatDomains.com. But if if at all possible you want a .com domain.

#2 The Size of The Domain. Generally short and one word domains have been the greatest of value with the exception being if the domain is a popular phrase or term such as “ForSaleByOwner.com” which was also brokered by GreatDomains.com and sold for $835,000! But generally the shorter the better such as Wine.com which sold for a reported $3,000,000 or Business.com which was sold for a reported $7,000,000.

#3 The Market Segment The Domain Belongs To. A name such as Toys.com or Flowers.com would have larger and more lucritive markets than say darts.com or watermelon.com anf therefore beworth much more.

#4 The Brandability of the Domain. Is it easy to remember and type in? Can you build a brand with the domain. Once again shorter domains are better here generally. Yet you want a very descriptive domain that describes what it is you are selling or offering as few characters and words as possible. The exception in regard to length once again is the use of popular phrases.

Much more goes into a name that just words, it’s the way the words are put together. It has been proven that certain words and combinations of words will actually stay in persons mind longer and become more memorable than others. For Example for many years the #1 Brand name in the world has been Cocacola, even though in taste tests Pepsi tastes better to most people.

Why does the Coca Cola brand remain supreme? Many people believe It’s the name. Names that have repetitive sounds and or rhyme make a lasting impression in a persons brain it’s just the fact of the way we hear things, many of my domain name that you see listed on this site follow this way of thinking and are prices according.

Take a look at the some very successful brands below they all have repetitive sounds:
Coca Cola
PalmPilot
Bed Bath & Beyond
BlackBerry
Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Manson
DoubleYourDating ( A $20M a year web company)
Google

I am sure you can think of a few right now yourself.

Following this way of thinking if you are seeking to build and business and brand it
A Great Brand name and therefore a great domain name will do at least one if not both of the following

 1) It’s a name incorporating the factors that I just discussed above repetitive sounds or illiteration, and rhyming.
2) It delivers your USP (Unique Selling Proposition technically a USP is unique and that would be presented on your site itself) or TIO Touchstone (A term coined by marketing Guru Mark Joyner) meaning that it delivers you who you are what you offer and what benefit you are to you customers in 3 seconds or less.

Based on these factors. ProtectYourProstate.com (A name I own) is a better brand and more easily brandable than prostate.com. Making the longer name a better investment for someone actually looking to build a business. The shorter generic name Prostate.com would be better suited for a domain parker that has no intent of developing the name but only to park it and make money from the Type in or natural traffic or a portal of some kind.

Other great names that are based on these factors.
StopLosingYourHair.com ( Another name I own)
ForSaleByOwner.com (Sold for $835,000)

While these names do not contain repetitive sounds or rhyming, the do certainly contain great TIO Touchtones and USPs. So keep these factors in mind if you are selecting a name for new business that you want to be successful.

#5 The Keywords In The Domain. If your approach to marketing is web based rather than a media blitz such as that of a large corporation with unlimited funding for branding as I just mentioned above it is preferred to have some of your keywords in your domain name as in the name VideoGameSecrets.com, which will do much better in the search engines generating traffic for the site itself than a domain of say RadicalArena.com. A Great approach would be to buy both names and generate traffic with the most search engine friendly of the two names and at the same time brand the most brand able of the two names.

#6 Natural Traffic. Does the Domain have any natural traffic coming from people typing in the domain name?

#7 Quality of Natural Traffic. What is the origin of the traffic, does it
monitize, what are they looking for.

So keep these 7 points in mind when looking for a domain to use for your site or online business.

Now The FAQ:

Are your prices negotiable?
Everything is always negotiable, but don’t low ball me and send me an offer that is 40% below what I am asking, you will only piss me off and then I will have to give you a special price that is higher than I would give anyone else :o)

How do we do the transaction?
Once we finalize a price there are two ways to do this:

  • You send me the payment and then initiate the transfer and I will approve it and you will have your domain usually in 48 hours depending on the registrar. If you are at the same registrar that I am at (Directnic.com, Godaddy.com or Monkier) this will happen much faster usually, some times just a matter of a few hours.

  • We use Monikers Escrow and push service where the domain and money in transferred at the same time and they check to make sure that the name is going to the right party.

  • I generally use the first method as it is the fastest and cheapest. I have never once not delivered on a name in 8 years of selling names. I can provide you with references of customers if you wish.

Do You Offer Payment Plans?
Yes I now offer INTEREST FREE payment plans.

For Example: You know that SomeGreatName.com is the perfect name and it’s the name you feel in your gut that you should have for your business, and you know your business is going to be successful and say a year or two from now you won’t have any problem paying for the name in fact you might even need the tax write off. But right now you just don’t have money to shell out after all you are investing in product, marketing courses etc

Well now you can have SomeGreatName.com and NOT get screwed on interest by taking out a loan or using your creditcards.

You can put down 10% and then make interest free payments on the name until it is paid for in full, you will get to use the domain name as long as you are making payments and you will own the domain at the end of the contract.
As long as you don’t default on the payments the domain will be yours. If you default the domain reverts back to being mine, just like buying a car house or anything else, but without the interest. Think of it as a lease option on the domain.

One other advantage is that in a traditional loan if you default on the payments, it ruins your credit and they send bill collectors to get your money. I won’t do that. If you choose not to continue the payments you are free to go. I keep all money that has been paid to me on the domain and I retain ownership and the DNS settings revert back to me. But I will not sue you or put a black mark on your credit you are free to go. Try that with a bank or credit card company! Ask me for the full details of the agreement if you are interested.

How do I pay?

I accept Paypal and wire transfers.

What do I do if I want to buy one of your names?

E-mail me an offer either through the submit from or to nico@cashcows.com and I will get back to you?

Will you get am an appraisal of the name I am interested in?

No I will not. If you must have an appraisal you need to go find another name from another seller to buy from. I am not spending my money for someone to tell me how to price my names.

In my opinion Domain Name Appraisals are a marketing gimmick to generate another stream of income forRegistrars and Brokers. This all started when domain registration was at it's peak. NONE of the guys I know that have thousands of names and spend tens of thousand of dollars on buying names all of the time ever have anything appraised and neither do I.

The one exception is having a domain appraised, then donating the name and getting a TAX write off. That is the only valid reason for an appraisal. Oh yeah they are also good in a pinch when you run out of toilet paper in the bathroom. ;o)

The only prices I am interested is in my asking , your offer and what we decide on. Don’t let someone else do your thinking for you. (If I had done that and listened to outside people I would have lost a $40K sale)

Do you have stats for your names?

I do for most but not all. But if your PPC guy looking for traffic names look elsewhere. I am play that game too and I am not going to give you my traffic names for what you think they are worth. My portfolio pays for itself and I am happy to keep it forever. I am looking to sell to people that want good, brandable and memorable site names to develop.

For instance my name of this site and my company Cashcows.com get almost no traffic but it is a great name! It the kind of name people would use in a multi-million dollar ad campaign. And I would not sell it for less than $275,000.
